Coffee for a Cause
The collaboration between a local nonprofit and a well-known coffee brand name in Northwest Arkansas has resulted in a unique partnership. This collaboration not only delights the taste buds of coffee lovers but also allows individuals to support something truly special in our community.
Available for purchase on the Onyx Coffee Lab website under the “Collaborations” tab, you’ll find a beautifully embossed peach-colored Onyx coffee package simply titled Sources. By clicking the link and purchasing the specially blended coffee — for yourself or as a gift — you are contributing 50% of the profits to Sources, a multifaceted regional nonprofit.
Sources’ core mission is to promote the independence of individuals with disabilities. While the organization serves people with disabilities, its focus is on abilities — abilities that, with the right support, can enhance dignity, self-esteem and the capacity to live independently in the community.
Like Onyx, Sources is a home region success story. For more than 30 years, Sources has been steadily providing services, support and advocacy, making significant strides in helping individuals with disabilities live and work successfully in the community. The organization also supports families and the larger community, often serving as the first point of contact for information about navigating the complex network of disability services in Arkansas.

Sources plays a crucial role in connecting people with timely information and resources, helping to make Northwest Arkansas more accessible and inclusive. The organization also works to raise awareness about social and environmental barriers that need to be addressed to create a truly inclusive community. By promoting visibility and engagement, Sources works to ensure that all individuals in Northwest Arkansas can actively participate in the community and are encouraged to advocate for equal access.
In addition to these advocacy efforts, Sources offers a wide range of direct services. These include American Sign Language classes, benefits counseling, brain injury support groups, employment skills training and peer support groups. Some programs are open to individuals without disabilities who have family members or peers with disabilities and want to learn how to provide broader support.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Jim Mather, Sources is known as a one-stop resource center for people with disabilities. While the organization’s support is concentrated in the northwest region of the state, Sources can assist individuals across Arkansas. With one in five Arkansans living with a disability, Sources understands that, with the growing population in Northwest Arkansas, services need to be expanded.
In 2019, Sources began planning the Center for Inclusion, a new facility designed to offer state-of-the-art training spaces, demonstration rooms, accessible kitchens, offices, multipurpose resource, employment and technology centers — all under one roof.
Sources reached its original fundraising goal in 2021 to break ground on the project. However, the COVID-19 pandemic, along with resulting supply chain disruptions, labor shortages and rising material costs, had led to an increase in construction expenses, and the estimated building cost had more than doubled. As a result, the organization needed an additional $2 million to bring the Center for Inclusion to life.

Thanks to innovative partnerships such as the one with Onyx, Sources is optimistic about raising the remaining funds needed to make the Center for Inclusion a reality. This collaboration makes it easy for the community to help empower individuals with disabilities while enjoying the rich flavors of a sought-after local brand.
