Falling in Love with Music at Walmart AMP

By Anna VanHorn

There’s nothing quite like an outdoor summer concert — unless of course, it’s a fall outdoor concert! As we say goodbye to summer and welcome in the cooler temperatures, Walmart AMP has music lovers from all genres in mind with its upcoming concerts.

The country music crowd has already been overjoyed with the big names that have visited Northwest Arkansas this season. But hold on to your cowboy hats, there’s even more to come. Dierks Bentley and Keith Urban are veteran superstars in the country genre who never fail to put on a great show and thrill audiences with their singalong classics. But the AMP isn’t just focused on the tried-and-true country musicians. Koe Wetzel will be just one of the artists ushering in a new generation of country music at the AMP with their own signature sounds that are dominating country music radio.

Those looking for a little more nostalgia — particularly ‘90s and early 2000s — will be psyched to see Incubus and Goo Goo Dolls appearing in Northwest Arkansas. September also brings us the amazing co-billing of grunge rock dream duo Alice in Chains and Breaking Benjamin.

On the other end of the spectrum, pop music has its place in the final shows of the season at the AMP.  Big Time Rush, the boy band that started as the focus of a musical comedy TV show on Nickelodeon, will appear in August. Grammy-nominated OneRepublic will be making its AMP debut with an unmistakable and widely adored pop style.

Hard rock and heavy metal make an impressive showing with two unforgettable acts appearing at the AMP. Halestorm, led by frontwoman Lzzy Hale, delivers head-banging song after song with unmatched energy. And with perhaps the best metal band name of all time, Five Finger Death Punch will no doubt rock the faces off of the hard rock fans of Northwest Arkansas.

Closing out the season at the AMP is an impressive night of good ol’ American rock music. The Black Keys bring their Dropout Boogie Tour with special guests Band of Horses and The Velveteers on Oct. 13.
